Industrial power distribution
The plant stops when the power system does. Industrial distribution is judged on availability, not on the single-line diagram.
EPC · In short
Industrial power distribution is the electrical system inside a plant boundary: the incoming HT supply, the step-down substation, the HT and LT switchgear, the transformers, the cable network, the earthing and lightning protection, and the motor control that runs the process. Enersys Engineers designs, builds, tests and commissions these systems as complete electrical projects for sponge iron plants, steel melting shops, cement works, ferro alloy units, rolling mills and process industries across Odisha and East India — including the panels, which are manufactured in our own shop to the protection scheme our engineers drew.
What an industrial power system has to do
An industrial network is not a scaled-down utility network. It carries large motor loads that start and stop against a weak internal bus, it tolerates very little downtime because the process cannot be interrupted cheaply, and it is usually extended several times over its life as the plant grows. A design that ignores any of those three ends up as a plant that trips on its own starting currents.
The work therefore starts with the load list and the study, not with the equipment schedule. Fault level, voltage dip on the largest motor start, and relay grading between the incomer and the furthest feeder decide the ratings and the settings that everything downstream is bought to.
Scope of an industrial electrical project
Why doing it under one contract matters
Industrial electrical work splits badly. When the substation, the panels, the cabling and the approvals sit with four parties, the gaps between them are where the schedule is lost — a metering cubicle built before the licensee approved the scheme, a relay set without reference to the upstream grading, a cable schedule that no longer matches the route that was dug.
Enersys carries the whole chain: the study that sets the ratings, the panels built to that study, the cabling and erection, the statutory approvals, and the commissioning. One party owns the interfaces, which is the only arrangement under which a charging date means anything.

Frequently asked
What is industrial power distribution?
It is the electrical system inside a plant boundary — the incoming HT supply and step-down substation, HT and LT switchgear, transformers, the cable network, earthing and lightning protection, and the motor control that drives the process. It is distinct from the utility network outside the fence, which the distribution licensee owns.
Do you handle the DISCOM connection as well as the internal system?
Yes, and we prefer to. The licensee decides the supply voltage, the contract demand and the metering arrangement, and those decisions size the substation and the metering cubicle. Treating the connection as a separate exercise from the internal design is how plants end up rebuilding equipment they have already bought.
Can you work on a running plant?
Yes. Extensions, augmentation and replacement in a live plant are a large part of this work. It is planned around available shutdown windows, with the isolation, earthing and interlock changes worked out in advance and the switching schedule agreed with the plant’s own electrical team.
Which voltage levels do you work at?
From 433 V LT distribution up to 220 kV, and we are qualified to execute transmission at 400 kV. Most industrial work sits at 33 kV, 11 kV and LT, with the incoming supply at 33 kV or 132 kV depending on the contract demand.
Who does industrial electrical projects in Odisha and East India?
Enersys Engineers delivers industrial power distribution and complete electrical projects across Odisha and East India, for sponge iron plants, steel melting shops, cement works, ferro alloy units and process industries. Scope runs from the incoming HT supply and step-down substation through switchgear, cabling, earthing and motor control.

A substation is a sequence of devices that must coordinate exactly. Get the ratings or the grading wrong and one fault takes the whole station out.

Most industrial plants pay for power twice — once in units consumed, and again in demand charges, penalties and losses nobody has measured.
