SCADA & automation panels
The panel that makes the installation visible — to the operator, and to the load despatch centre that requires the data.
Manufacturing · In short
A SCADA panel provides supervisory control and data acquisition for a substation or plant — collecting measurements and status from field devices, presenting them to operators, and passing data upstream to a load despatch centre or corporate system. Enersys Engineers manufactures RTU and gateway panels, PLC control panels and substation automation panels, including the telemetry link that SLDC, RLDC and CTU registration require.
What we build
Why telemetry is a project risk
Load despatch centre registration cannot complete until the data link is established and tested. It is a small item of hardware with a long lead time on the utility side, and it is routinely discovered late — after the plant is otherwise ready to charge.
Because we handle the SLDC and RLDC registration as well as manufacturing the panel, the communication requirement is designed in at the start rather than retrofitted at the end.
Integration scope
- Protocol conversion between relay, meter and master station — IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-101/104, Modbus, DNP3
- Time synchronisation by GPS or NTP for sequence-of-event accuracy
- Redundant communication paths where the connection voltage requires them
- Cyber-segregation between the control network and business networks
- Historian and reporting interface for generation and energy accounting
Frequently asked
What is IEC 61850?
The international standard for substation automation communication. It allows protection relays, meters and control devices from different manufacturers to interoperate over a station bus, and supports high-speed peer-to-peer messaging between bays.
Do you provide the SCADA software as well as the panel?
We build and integrate the panel, configure the RTU or gateway, and commission the data link. Master station software is supplied to the customer’s or the utility’s standard.
Is SCADA required for a solar plant?
For any plant connected at HT with despatch centre obligations, yes — generation data, availability and telemetry to the load despatch centre are conditions of registration. It is also how you find out an inverter block has stopped earning.

SLDC, RLDC & NLDC registration and scheduling
Registration is a one-off. Scheduling and deviation settlement are for the life of the asset — and they carry real money.
