Solar power plant EPC
Most solar contractors stop at the inverter. We build the switchyard, the bay extension and the line that carries the power away.
EPC · In short
Solar power plant EPC is the turnkey delivery of a photovoltaic plant and the infrastructure that evacuates its output. Enersys Engineers provides design, engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of ground-mount and rooftop solar plants, together with switchyards and EHT cabling up to 220 kV, bay extensions, transmission lines and substations. The company completed a 13 MW plant using one of India’s first TOPCon panel installations and engineered a 17 MW plant.
Plant scope
- Detailed design and engineering — layout, string design, cable sizing, earthing and lightning protection
- Module and mounting structure supply and installation
- Inverter, transformer and HT switchgear supply and installation
- DC and AC cabling, combiner boxes and terminations
- Array earthing grid, module frame bonding and surge protection
- Plant SCADA, weather station and remote monitoring
- Testing, commissioning and performance verification
Evacuation scope
This is where a plant either earns or sits idle. Enersys delivers the whole evacuation chain rather than handing it to a second contractor.
- Pooling substation and switchyard up to 220 kV
- EHT cable systems up to 220 kV
- Bay extension at the receiving substation
- Transmission line to the interconnection point
- ABT-compliant metering and communication to the load despatch centre
Design decisions that set the yield
- Module technology — TOPCon adds a tunnel-oxide passivated rear contact, improving efficiency, temperature coefficient and low-light yield over PERC
- Row pitch and tilt traded against land area and winter morning shading
- String sizing kept inside the inverter MPPT window at both record cold open-circuit and record hot operating conditions
- Cable sizing against current capacity, voltage drop and derating for ambient and grouping — the difference between a 1% and a 3% lifetime loss
- Cleaning and soiling strategy appropriate to the site’s dust load
Our solar portfolio
Seven work packages that between them cover a solar plant from module to grid. Each is available within a turnkey contract or on its own.
- Supply, installation, testing and commissioning
- Design and detailed engineering
- Maintenance and long-term O&M
- Tower work
- Transmission lines
- Bay extension at the receiving substation
- Substation and switchyard construction
Go green, go renewable — six work streams
Renewable generation is only useful once it reaches the grid. These six streams are deliberately chosen to cover the whole path.
- Solar and wind power plants — design through commissioning
- Switchyards up to 220 kV
- EHT cable systems up to 220 kV
- Earthing systems for plant and switchyard
- Plant, area and security lighting
- Interior electrification for control rooms and buildings

Frequently asked
Does Enersys handle solar evacuation as well as the plant?
Yes. Switchyards and EHT cable systems up to 220 kV, bay extensions, transmission lines and substations are all in-house scope, so plant and evacuation are delivered under one contract and one programme.
What are TOPCon modules?
TOPCon — tunnel oxide passivated contact — is a high-efficiency cell architecture that reduces rear-surface recombination compared with conventional PERC, giving higher efficiency, a better temperature coefficient and stronger low-light performance. Enersys delivered a 13 MW plant on one of India’s first TOPCon installations.
Do you work on rooftop as well as ground-mount solar?
Yes — ground-mount, rooftop and captive installations, including the HT interface and metering that industrial rooftop plants require.
Is O&M available after commissioning?
Yes. Post-commissioning AMC covering module cleaning, string testing, inverter servicing, protection testing and generation reporting is offered as a continuing contract.

Solar consultancy
Modules are the visible part and the smallest share of the risk. Yield, evacuation and availability are where a solar business case is won or lost.
