Electrical & automation panel manufacturing
Built by the team that drew the protection scheme and ran the fault study — so the specified rating is the installed rating.
Manufacturing · In short
Enersys Engineers manufactures electrical and automation panels in-house at Bhubaneswar, Odisha — including power control centres (PCC), power and motor control centres (PMCC), motor control centres (MCC), VVFD drive panels, synchronising panels, relay and metering panels, SCADA panels and HT metering cubicles. The company designed and manufactured Odisha’s first 11 kV metering cubicle. Panels are built to the protection scheme and fault level study produced by the same engineering team.

What separates a good panel from a cheap one
Two panels can carry the same rating plate and behave completely differently in a fault. These are the details that decide which one you have.
- Short-circuit withstand — busbars and their supports must survive the peak electromagnetic force of a through-fault, not merely carry rated current. That force comes out of the fault MVA study, which we run ourselves.
- Form of separation — higher forms segregate the busbar, functional units and terminals, so a fault in one compartment cannot propagate and a feeder can be worked on safely.
- Temperature rise and derating — enclosure size, ventilation and busbar cross-section sized for the real ambient, not a laboratory 35 °C. Odisha summers derate hard.
- Ingress protection — IP rating matched to the room. A dust-laden DRI or sponge iron plant needs far more protection than an air-conditioned control room.
- Cable entry and termination space — the most common cause of a panel that cannot actually be wired as installed.
- Routine testing — continuity, insulation resistance, high-voltage withstand, functional and interlock checks before dispatch, and again after installation.
Why in-house manufacturing matters on an EPC project
- The panel is built by the team that designed the protection scheme
- Changes discovered during commissioning are made without a vendor negotiation
- Delivery is scheduled against our own construction programme
- Testing, installation and charging are handled by one accountable party
- Post-commissioning AMC covers the panel we built
Frequently asked
Does Enersys manufacture panels for projects it is not building?
Yes. Panels are supplied as a standalone product against the customer’s single-line diagram and protection scheme, as well as within our own EPC contracts.
What was Odisha’s first 11 kV metering cubicle?
In 2021, alongside the design and engineering of a 17 MW solar power plant, Enersys designed and manufactured the first 11 kV metering cubicle in Odisha.
Are panels type-tested?
Panels are built to the applicable IS and IEC standards, with routine tests performed on every unit before dispatch. Type test certification for the switchgear and the enclosure design is provided with the documentation pack.

PCC — Power Control Centre panels
The board everything else hangs off. Its short-circuit withstand is the number that matters, not its rated current.
