Solar consultancy
Modules are the visible part and the smallest share of the risk. Yield, evacuation and availability are where a solar business case is won or lost.
Consultancy · In short
Solar consultancy covers the technical work that determines whether a solar plant will generate what its financial model assumes. Enersys Engineers provides site and irradiance assessment, energy yield estimation, DC/AC sizing and ratio optimisation, module and inverter technology selection, evacuation and connectivity studies, detailed project reports, technical due diligence for lenders and buyers, and owner’s engineer supervision through construction and commissioning.
Resource and yield assessment
A yield estimate is the single number every other assumption depends on. Getting it wrong by three percent moves the internal rate of return more than any equipment discount will.
- Site assessment — shading, topography, soil, access and land suitability
- Irradiance analysis from satellite-derived and ground-measured data
- Energy yield estimation with a documented loss tree — soiling, temperature, mismatch, DC and AC cable losses, inverter efficiency, availability, curtailment
- P50 / P90 exceedance estimates for lender appraisal
- Degradation modelling across the PPA term
Technology and plant configuration
- Module technology selection — TOPCon, PERC, bifacial, and the yield gain each actually delivers at your site
- Mounting selection — fixed-tilt, single-axis tracker, or elevated structure
- Inverter topology — string versus central, and MPPT window checking at record cold and record hot conditions
- DC/AC ratio optimisation against clipping loss and capital cost
- Row pitch and tilt traded against land area and winter shading
- Earthing, lightning protection and surge protection design
Evacuation and connectivity
Generation with no route to the grid is a stranded asset. This work runs in parallel with plant design, not after it.
- Pooling substation and switchyard configuration
- Evacuation voltage selection and line routing
- Connectivity and long-term access application support
- Grid compliance — reactive power capability, fault ride-through, harmonics
- Metering scheme and ABT compliance

Frequently asked
What is a P90 yield estimate and why do lenders ask for it?
A P50 estimate is the generation figure expected to be exceeded in half of all years. A P90 is the figure expected to be exceeded in nine years out of ten — a conservative case. Lenders size debt service against P90 because it reflects the downside year, not the average one.
Does Enersys provide solar consultancy independently of EPC?
Yes. Consultancy, technical due diligence and owner’s engineer assignments are taken independently, including on plants built by other contractors.
What is the advantage of TOPCon over PERC modules?
TOPCon adds a tunnel-oxide passivated rear contact that reduces recombination loss, giving higher conversion efficiency, a better temperature coefficient and stronger low-light performance than conventional PERC. Enersys commissioned a 13 MW plant on one of India’s first TOPCon panel installations.
How early should the evacuation study start?
At feasibility stage. Connectivity approvals and bay availability routinely take longer than plant construction, so the evacuation route should be settled before the plant layout is frozen.

Solar power plant EPC
Most solar contractors stop at the inverter. We build the switchyard, the bay extension and the line that carries the power away.

Open access is only worth doing once the surcharges are counted. We do that arithmetic before you apply, not after.
